Well-- This
week is another eventful week in the mission...
This
officially starts my last transfer in the mission-- only 6 weeks left. It is extremely bitter, and of course sweet. The missionaries are already making terrible
"going home" jokes... Not havin' it. Haha!
We had our
zone conference call and found out that Sister Haun and I will be in a trio
with the other sister missionary in our district. We think they will be adding another
companionship of elders. We have been
asked to move to Sister Vandertoolen's pad so that we can all fit in one place.
Our pad is small.
Our whole
mission has been invited to transfer meeting; even those that are not being
transferred. So we will see what the
surprise is. Last time the whole mission
was invited to transfer meeting the mission was reorganized with zone names and
we gained two new zones and a new stake... so we'll see. Rumor has it, that the
new mission president that has been called to come in next year, is going to
come-- though no one knows.
Today is Sister
Haun's birthday! We are going to get ice
cream and PACK! I feel so bad this is
how we have to spend her birthday, but-- "life's not fair; as a matter of
fact it sucks" ;) [Blog readers, that’s the joke in my family...]
Bendeciones!
We have had so many of them... I wish I could go into all the details of the
miracles this week, but time doesn’t permit. We were able to have a woman who hasn’t
been to church in months, come yesterday for the first time! She lives in a care facility and she has been
a WONDERFUL influence on others. She is
sharing her strong testimony with others and that is how we have 2 of our
investigators. Judith also is from the same center, and came too! She had an
extremely wonderful time, she was moved to tears-- and found for herself that
this is where God wants her. She said that she felt at home when she came, and
that it was a very familiar feeling. We found out that the Sunday school
teacher taught her son's first grade class 20ish years ago. Incredible.
We were
able to go to the General Women's broadcast! It was beautiful! Prior to the conference, we
had a stake social with ice cream and things. WE HAD OUR INVESTIGATORS COME!
Monica and Dakota were there, and had a great time! They, as makes sense, were
a little nervous to meet people--but everyone welcomed them with open arms and
we found out that our Relief Society president’s son was in the same class as Dakota
this last year! Special.
We were
able to take a woman from our ward to the temple this week! We had a
spectacular time! It was hard on her because she is older-- to do the stairs on
the subway. We did initiatory, which I have not done since being on my mission. So that was fun. Sister Haun had 18 names for which we were
able to perform initiatory ordinances! It
was a neat experience.
I have seen
OVER and OVER again how the Lord answers prayers. I can't seem to believe it. This work is
being hastened--we have the choice to be on board or not; but the train has
already left.
